ABOUT
The Bay City ISD Education Foundation is a community-led non-profit organized for the purpose of supporting educational excellence at Bay City ISD schools. We seek to enhance student achievement, recognize and promote exemplary staff involvement, and foster community support for Bay City schools. As a charitable organization separate from the school district, the Foundation supports activities and programs not funded by tax revenue. We fund innovation. Your tax-deductible donations are directed to support BCISD students and teachers through programs, such as grants for teacher innovation, excellence and development. We hope that you will take an active role in supporting the Bay City ISD Education Foundation as we seek to provide unique and innovative educational opportunities for our students.

As a charitable organization separate from the school district, the Foundation supports activities and programs not funded by normal operating budget and tax revenue. We fund INNOVATION. Your tax-deductible donations are directed to support BCISD students and teachers through programs, such as Teacher Grants for projects that enhance and augment educational opportunities for our students. Grants should have creative teaching approaches and be innovative projects with the hope that the best will serve as pilot projects for broader implementation. In addition, they should reflect the Bay City ISD Core Mission and Goals.
Since our first grants were awarded in 2020, funds have allowed teachers from kindergarten through high school to introduce their students to new technologies, challenging ideas and dynamic hands-on learning. What’s more, many of these visionary projects have brought state-of-the-art tools and instructional materials that will be used in subsequent years and by additional teachers – considerably multiplying the impact of the original grants.
As the Foundation has grown, we have implemented the annual awarding of Dual Credit scholarships for High School Students to earn in class college credit while attending Bay City High School. In addition, Blackcat Threads & More closet is a free store for our disadvantaged students to obtain new/gently used clothes, shoes, underwear, socks, coats, personal hygiene items and school supplies. Our goal is to help students and their families to feel positively about themselves, BCISD and attending school by providing access to items needed to arrive at school clean, warm, and prepared to learn.
We hope that you will take an active role in supporting the Bay City ISD Education Foundation as we seek to provide unique and innovative educational opportunities for our students.

The Foundation’s logo was designed by talented BCHS student Saya H.
The logo features a teacher and a student in the shape of the letters BC. The figures and a star of excellence are shown in our spirit colors, blue and gold.
Saya is shown here with Foundation Board member Helen McAda.
